For over half a century, Cheryl Glenn has dedicated her career to real estate, becoming a well-respected name in Cochise County and beyond. However, her journey into the field was not initially planned. Cheryl first intended to be an English teacher, enrolling in college to study secondary education. To support herself through school, she took a job as a front desk clerk at a real estate office. It was there that she discovered her passion for real estate, prompting her to leave college in her junior year and pursue a career in the industry.
At the time, real estate schools were nonexistent, so Cheryl prepared for the licensing exam by reading various books and studying independently. Her dedication paid off when she passed the exam, launching a career that would span decades. She initially focused on selling land before opening her own real estate company in Tucson in 1973. Later, she sold her company and joined Coldwell Banker at the Tucson Mall, followed by a stint at Executive Realty.
Cheryl's personal life led her on a journey beyond Tucson when she met her husband, a fourth-generation rancher with deep roots in Cochise County. After their marriage, she moved from the city to Douglas. When her husband’s parents passed away, they sold the homestead and relocated multiple times—to Tucson, Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado—as her husband worked on major construction projects. Eventually, the couple decided to return to Benson, where her husband had grown up and graduated from Benson High School. Cheryl has now been operating her real estate business from her office on Fourth Street in Benson for over ten years, selling both commercial and residential properties throughout Cochise County.
Throughout her career, Cheryl has witnessed significant transformations in the real estate industry. She recalls a time when real estate transactions were far simpler, remarking, "You could write and sign a contract on the hood of a car." Today, the process is more complex, with numerous regulations and responsibilities divided among multiple professionals. Despite these changes, Cheryl has continuously adapted and thrived, using her extensive experience to serve her clients effectively.
Beyond real estate, Cheryl is a strong advocate for veterans and actively supports Soldier’s Best Friend, a nonprofit organization that trains rescue dogs to become service and companion animals for veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder or traumatic brain injuries.
